Revitalized Funky Aztecs Re-enter Music Scene with Renowned Album 'Chicano Blues'

The Funky Aztecs, a seminal hip-hop and rap collective hailing from Vallejo, California, and established in 1989, initially comprised members Merciless, also known as Merc100Man; Sapo Loco, also known as Suga Ray; and Indio, also known as Oh Mighty Ric. Their groundbreaking first album, "Chicano Blues," achieved over 400,000 sales and boasted collaborations with iconic figures like Tupac Shakur, Digital Underground members Shock-G and Money-B, as well as Pee-Wee of Dangerous Music, TMD, and several others. In 1997, Sapo Loco left the group to embark on a solo journey, and in the same year, new members Juego (originally known as Game) and Mainey Mo joined the lineup. Widely acknowledged as the original Chicano rap ensemble, the Funky Aztecs have released three influential albums: 'Chicano Blues' in 1992, 'Day of the Dead' in 1995, and 'Addicted' in 1998, collaborating with renowned artists and producers throughout their career.

Now, the Funky Aztecs are staging a significant comeback by reissuing their seminal debut album, "Chicano Blues," featuring illustrious rappers like Tupac Shakur, Pee-Wee from Dangerous Music, TMD, among others. Recognized as a genre-defining classic, the group is primed to conquer global audiences with upcoming new releases.
